Inspiration
The Milano Alabaster Wall Sconce is a cigar in its band, cut from stone. The shade is a single capsule of Spanish alabaster, rounded at both ends like a pill, and a wide brass ring closes around its waist exactly where a cigar band sits, the only metal on the front of the fixture. Behind the band a short stub reaches back to a small round brass plate on the wall, so the capsule seems to float clear of the surface. Lit, the stone turns cloud-white with grey veins running through it, and the two halves glow above and below the band like the ends of a cigar held up to the light.

Where does the light go?
The whole capsule glows, and the two bulbs push light up and down the wall from the rounded ends. Beside a mirror it lights the face evenly from both sides; it is ambient light, not a reading spot.
How high beside a bathroom mirror?
Mount the backplate at about 160–165cm/63–65″ so the brass band sits at eye level, with the capsule centered beside the mirror and 8–10cm/3–4″ clear of the frame.
Can it be mounted horizontally?
Yes. The round plate fits a standard wall box either way, so the capsule can run vertical beside a mirror or horizontal above it; the two bulbs then throw light left and right.
Which bulbs fit inside?
Two warm-light bulbs are included. For replacements use short E26 or E27 LED, a T-shape or small candle, so they fit inside the 8.5cm/3.3″ capsule; the stone hides the bulb shape.
